Challenge #212 - I Want You to Colour Me Blue - Quickly

The greatly anticipated (or dreaded, depending on your risk assessment) Speed Stamping Challenge is here again! This time we're asking you to create in shades of Blue! When we do a speed challenge we are not expecting a detailed masterpiece from you. We want you to have fun and see what you can create in under 10 minutes!  "WHAT?!" you exclaim,"That's impossible!" Well, it isn't, as our design team will show you, but you can design it in your head or sketch it out first. You can gather all your supplies ahead of time. But once you start the cutting/stamping/die cutting/embossing/etc. process, you must start the timer! You have 10 minutes! Let us know, with your entry, how long it took you to complete your card or project! The key is to KISS!! Keep It Simple, Stamper!

Also, you can use any shades of Blue, plus other neutrals but no other colours!

How did the Design Team colour it blue in under 10? Let's see:

Amy Jasper 8m10s

Heather Cooper 6m47s

Jan Clothier 7m18s

Joanne James 9m24s

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • You can come up with your design and gather materials before you start the clock, but once you start work, you have to complete your design in 10 min. State in your blog or description, how long it took you to make it.
  • Use only shades of blue and other neutrals in your project.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI212 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines.

Winners for Challenge #211 - A Theme as Lovely As a Tree

Seems the poet, Joyce Kilmer, was right when he wrote,"I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree." He must have been thinking about your trees! We got a great response for our Tree theme challenge! Apparently, they are popular, especially around this time of year. Fall trees, Christmas trees, all season trees, you name it - we got it! And our Design Team was able to agree with each other on our winners, too. Is this a new trend? Touch wood....

Our Top Pick is: Vicky Hayes

Vicky's ethereal looking pink trees are actually doing an important job, raising awareness and funds for research for breast cancer through another challenge site! Our team loved the clean and simple look of them, the way the sentiment popped against them, the happy snow in the background  and the clean and simple layout! Everyone should have a pink Christmas tree once in their life! Great job, Vicky!

Our first Featured Artist is: Karen Brown

The Design Team was blown away by Karen's fabulous alcohol ink background and the way it was created to represent a lake with a sunset and fall trees lining the shore! How do you get alcohol ink to do exactly what you want in this kind of technique anyway?!! The white die cut tree was perfect in the foreground! Karen's creation totally lives up to the title of Featured Artist!
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new Speed Stamping challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #211 - A Theme as Lovely as a Tree

Where I live there have been many assaults recently on our most precious resource, trees! Fires, disease, clear cutting, encroaching civilization have all caused us to lose many more trees than we were willing to part with, and when you see them get more scarce it makes you appreciate them all the more. So our theme this time is dedicated to trees in all their glory - spring, fall or anytime!

What kind of trees come to mind for our Design Team?

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI211 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #210 - Recipe for Quick Healing

You know the saying, "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen!"? Well, some of you were not only in our kitchen for our Recipe Challenge, #210, but you told us to "Bring it on!" by the calibre of your card making! You certainly turned up the heat on the Design Team, as they had to choose winners, but in the end, too many cooks DID NOT spoil the broth, and we have our Top Pick and Featured Artist to share with you below:

Our Top Pick is: Vicky Hayes

The Design Team really liked the crisp, clean look of Vicky's get well card along with her choice of colours. Who would feel better, receiving a cheery card like this one?? Everything, the layout, the die cuts, the colours, the flowers, even details like the black staples work together in Vicky's card to say clean, healthy and cheerful!

Our first Featured Artist is: Kathy Schweinfurth

Kathy's fall inspired get well card had so many elements of yummy excellence to take note of! There was the intricate die cut trellis background, the stitched textured tag, the beautifully coloured leaves and the way they were arranged, extending beyond the dimensions of the card base and all the vibrant fall colours! Kathy cooked up a real feast for the eyes this week! Well done!
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new Theme challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
