Dream in Colour!

Do you dream in colour? I barely remember my dreams, so I can't recall, but if I do, these are the ones I'd pick for spring colours, because they're perfect for flowers and that's just what most of the Design Team were inspired to do with the colour challenge. But don't feel like you have to use flowers in your design. You are the master. Let the creative spirit move you!

And now, see how many different ways you can use these colours to create different flowers, thanks to the Design Team:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin Up colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI148 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #147

The lacy panel on this sketch seemed to spark everyone's creativity and we got some really great interpretations of that element! There was everything from ink splotches to embossed triangles, from gingham to horizontal swooshes with roses thrown in the mix as well! Well done everyone! It was so much fun to see what you did with that unusual sketch!

It was hard as usual but we managed to narrow it down to our two winners:

Our Top Pick is: Kristen Clothier

image

Both elegant and rustic at the same time, Kristen's little copper bee looks right at home on the elegant paper doily. And those embossed copper triangles were a perfect choice for the lacy panel on the sketch! Throw in some texture with the burlap ribbon and you've got a wonderful design! Well done, Kristen!

And our Featured Artist is: Laurel Seabrook

Laurel knocked it out of the park with her opulent rose design. She stamped and fussy cut that smile sentiment!! And fussy cut all those roses and leaves. But what caught the attention of the Design team were all the small details on Laurel's design like the stitching, the glitter embellishments and the beautiful choice of paper! Gorgeous!

Congratulations to our two winners, and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back tomorrow and check out our new challenge tomorrow! Think colour! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Lacy and Lovely

Are you ready for a new challenge this week? It's a unique sketch challenge, and Amanda has outdone herself again! I'm calling this one Lacy and Lovely because of the design on the horizontal panel. Is is lace? Is it designer paper? Is it a stamped design? Only you know because you are the interpreter of the sketch! Let's see what you think it is and what you come up with! I can hardly wait to see!

And now you can get into the heads of the Design Team and see what they were thinking:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch and to substitute one   shape for another but we must still be able to see the sketch   in your finished submission.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI145 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #146!

Wow! Everyone seemed to love that last challenge. It was so open-ended, I think, and spring is a universal pleaser! What's not to like? It was nice to see the different aspects of the season that people focused on: leaves, warmth, Easter, being outdoors, gardening and even weathered wood! And such great talent that, again, you made our job close to impossible!

But after intense debate, we managed to pick our two winners:

Our Top Pick is: Stasia Sloma

Stasia's sweet but simple white daisies on the green watercolour background were the CAS darlings of many of the Design Team and her crisp white, green, and black palette was an effective expression of the freshness of spring!

And our Featured Artist is: Ashwini

So Very Thankful

For sheer artistry, the Design Team agrees that you cannot beat this stunning creation of Ashwini's. The beautiful leaves with the variegated greens and the fun, multi-coloured grunge background plus the embedded sentiment panel all show so much careful work, we stand amazed! Well done!

Congratulations to our two winners, and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back tomorrow and check out our new challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
