Challenge #228 - Potpourri

Design Team member Amy has whipped up a new Recipe Challenge for you today and I know you're going to love it - there are so many possibilities! A little bit of this, and a little bit of that...kind of like potpourri! So that's what I called this challenge - Potpourri! There's paper scraps - hooray for a chance to use them up! There's pink - who doesn't like pink? There's a bow and a one word sentiment - those are easy. Finally, there is the requirement for repeat images! You can get really creative with this! You have to include all the elements in the recipe on your creation, but how you do that is up to you! Have fun!!

Let's see how the Design Team has combined their potpourri:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Use every element in the recipe, but the possibilities within those parameters are endless.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI#228 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Winners for Challenge #227 - A Reel Choice

We learned two things from this challenge. First, stampers are too busy crafting to watch many movies or second, this challenge might have been a bit too challenging! But the entries we did get we amazing! They showed thought and creativity and we ended up finding this one of our favourite challenges of all! You really should give it a try, just for the fun of it! Here are the winners:

Our Top Pick is: Christy Stanford

Christy was SO up for this challenge with her favourite movie being "Princess Bride"! She even had a specific stamp set to go with the movie and chose all the colours to go with aspects of the movie! Her card was well-designed and well-constructed, but sheer enthusiasm won the day! It's inconceivable that she wouldn't get a shout-out!

Our Featured Artist is: Cindy Major

Cindy created a beautiful, vintage wedding look for her entry, which was representing the movie, "My Best Friend's Wedding"! She used gorgeously rich background papers, and did a fabulous job of colouring her blushing bride, but it was the attention to all the little vintage details that made the Design Team collectively want to give top honours to Cindy's creation!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:

2.  Vicky Hayes
8.  dj

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Recipe Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #227 - A Reel Choice

This week's challenge is a fill in the blank challenge. You complete the sentence by filling in the blank, then you make your project based on the words you used to fill in the blank. Most of us have been watching a lot of television lately, and probably looking on Netflix and other streaming sites for our favourite movies to enjoy, since very few new ones can be made right now thanks to COVID-19!  So when you get your chance to pick the movie, what is one of your go-tos? Is is an action flick, a rom-com, fantasy, sci-fi, or a thriller? And don't forget, when you go to fill in the blank, you actually have to make a card based on your answer! That is a challenge, but I hope the Design Team samples will give you an idea what to do with this! Have fun with it!

Can you guess the favourite movies of the Design Team before you look at their answers??

Amy Jasper
Amy's favourite movie is Annie!

Heather's current all time favourite movie is "Arrival", with Amy Adams.

Jan picked a family favourite, "Love Actually".

Jane's favourite, Dirty Dancing, made us all laugh with this image!

Joanne James
Joanne used a famous quote from her all time fave, Jerry Maguire!

LeAnne Pugliese
Leanne's favourite is an old classic, "To Kill a Mockingbird".

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging project that fits the challenge.
  • Fill in the blanks with the words that are right for you and then create your project with those words in mind. Tell us, in your blog or on your site, what words you used.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI227 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #226 - A Little Tart

Well, our colour challenge brought out the best in all of you! Those tart colours were challenging to use, but you created some delicious concoctions with them! So strange how I've been craving lemon meringue and Key Lime all week! The Design Teams deliberations over the winners were a bit zesty, but we came to consensus, so here are our winners:

Our Top Pick is: dj at Sendable Sentiments

dj had just the right amount of colour with her delicious looking cupcake and lots of white space which toned down those intense colours considerably while creating a graphically pleasing design. The team especially loved the little green lines behind the cupcake and the cherry and sprinkles on top!

Our Featured Artist is: Christy Stanford

Christy made use of lots of white space as well with her whimsical floral creation! The challenge colours were perfectly displayed with these little flowers and the brown textured layer behind showed them off to perfection! The Design Team really liked the way Christy blended the colours in some of the flowers and the way she used the blooms without the vases in the stamp set, stamping creatively! Awesome!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:

4.  Vicky Hayes
6.      Cindi Copeland
11.    Jenny Engelke

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Fill In the Blank Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
