Love and Marriage

"Mawwiage! Mawwiage is what has bwought us togethah today!" Is anyone a Princess Bride fan? Well, even if you're not, we have a theme challenge this week and it is a timely one: Anniversaries! It's that time of year, at least in the Northern Hemisphere! In what month did you get married or would you like to get married? It was May for me! Here's our inspiration banner:

Let's see how the Design Team views romance and marriage:

Winners for Challenge #149

Good things come in threes, or fours or even sevens, and we had a lot of good things in our sketch challenge this round! Three to party turned out to be balloons for sure, but also flowers, and frosty treats and others!
Our choices for the two winners are:

Our Top Pick is: Joanne James

This sketch was totally made for the balloon pop-up dies and to make it a shaker card just added to the party appeal, especially with the vibrant colours Joanne used! The Design Team was ready to party on after seeing Joanne's cute card!

And our Featured Artist is: Heather Heroldt

Balloons were in the sketch, yes, but how clever was Heather to think of Hot Air Balloons, and the Design Team was taken with the bright colours and beautifully balanced composition of this project! Bravo!

Congratulations to our two winners, and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back tomorrow and check out our new challenge tomorrow! Think colour! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Three to Party!

Good things come in threes they say! (And bad things, too, but we're all positive here at AYSI!) This challenge is about a group of three and balloons make me think party! But you are not restricted to balloons or parties! Three of something in the middle that will work with this sketch that Amanda gave us! Have fun with it!

Let's see what the Design Team were thinking in triplicate about:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch and to substitute one   shape for another but we must still be able to see the sketch   in your finished submission.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI149 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #148!

The colours for this challenge were so pretty, and like the Design Team, most of you thought in floral themes, but that didn't stop a few more unusual ideas, including a flying piggy and a card full of beetles! Bravo for thinking outside the box!

Our choices for the two winners are:

Our Top Pick is: Heather Heroldt

Heather has created a pleasing floral pattern using these spring colours in a well-balanced design. The polka-dot embossing in the background is a perfect foil for the light feel of the flowers! Lovely card!

And our Featured Artist is: Teresa Kline

Teresa created a fabulous one layer card! The Design Team loved the newness of the look, like the flowers are springing out of puddles of watercoloured rainbows. The first thing that came to mind was April showers bring May flowers! And the big, bold sentiment contrasts so well with the background! Well done!

Congratulations to our two winners, and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back tomorrow and check out our new challenge tomorrow! Think colour! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
