Challenge #306 - At the Beach

As summer draws to a close in the Northern Hemisphere and begins to be a possibility in the Southern Hemisphere, we have a very summery Theme Challenge for you! The theme is "At the Beach"! What do you love to do at the beach? Explore the tide pools? Sunbathe? Swim? Build incredible sand sculptures? Read? Whatever it is, give us your version of a perfect day at the beach with your creation! We're looking forward to seeing your projects!

Winners for Challenge #305 - Recipe for Summer Sunshine

Thanks to all the testers who tried out our Recipe Challenge last week! I loved all the cheery yellows! They were very mood-lifting in a difficult week! We hope all of you enjoyed the uplift as well. Here are our lovely winners for you:

Our Top Pick is: Annette Elias

Annette has created a beautiful collage background in shades of yellow for her sea turtle. For the circle element of the challenge she created a circular window with a beautiful choice of patterned paper for the backing. Swimming lazily over the window is a beautiful sea turtle in shades of yellow and brown and his shell has been molded into a turtle shell shape! The distressed Thank You sentiment is the perfect touch along with the white enamel dots.

Our Featured Artist is: Kimberly Wiener

This beautiful design of Kimberly's caught the eye of our Design Team for the delicate yellow flowers with the vellum shadows. The arched background on the quilted-look card front is perfect for the lovely floral composition with the speckled patterned paper fronted with vellum as well! The bold, dark thank you really stands out against the delicate design! A Featured Artist-worthy card! Congratulations, Kimberly!

Challenge #305 - Recipe for Summer Sunshine

Our Design Team member, Joanne cooked up this recipe challenge and I know why she picked shades of yellow! She recently revealed that in the UK, she can't wait for summer, to be able to experience some summer sunshine. Hence the circle and shades of yellow! I can't wait to see what everyone does with these elements! This is going to be such a fun challenge!

You have to include all the elements in the recipe on your creation, but how you do that is up to you! Have fun and start your ovens, er...stamp sets!

We are so pleased to welcome our eleventh guest designer, Lee Ann Barrett, (who was our Featured Artist on Challenge #303) for this challenge.

Winners for Challenge #304 - Summertime & the Livin' is Easy

Ahh! Summertime! There's good evidence to suggest that it is the favourite season of many or you, or at least many of you have some wonderful memories and favourite things about it!

Now, I want to introduce you to our winners! Here they are: 

Our Top Pick is: Melanie H.

Melanie has created a beautiful CAS design featuring a perfectly blended background circle, onto which she has added simple die cuts to make a charming scene of camping in the woods. We loved her ink blending, the crisp die cuts and the way they spill out beyond the circle, creating natural depth. Her colour palette is a calm, serene one, with the one exception being the summer sun as a nice pop of colour. A top pick project, Melanie!!

Our Featured Artist is: Tenia Nelson 

Tenia filled in our blank with the words, "I love eating cold treats during the summer!" and she followed that up with the image of the most delicious looking ice cream cone ever! There were several things that the Design Team loved about this project, which included the blocks of summery colour behind the cone, the colouring of the image itself, and the sentiment with it's old time labeller tag with the black & white word! A very tasty card indeed for our Featured Artist award!
