Challenge #210 - Recipe for Quick Healing

The next type of challenge in our rotation of challenges is a recipe challenge, which involves a number of design elements given to you on the Challenge Banner, all of which must be included in the design of your project. How they are arranged, what size and colour they are, even how you perceive each element is up to you, as long as we can recognize that they are included. Some can be combined. See how creative you can be within the confines we have set!

This next recipe challenge was cooked up by Chef and Design Team Member LeAnne Pugliese, and it's a recipe for Quick Healing, because nothing helps you heal like knowing that someone else cares! Well, that and chicken soup....

Let's see what the Design Team's versions of chicken soup for quick healing look like:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Use every element in the recipe, but the possibilities within those parameters are endless.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI#210 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Winners for Challenge #209 - Lean On Me

Well, you have spoken, and we now know your favourites in terms of what punches and dies are your "go tos" and the overwhelming majority seems to be stitched shapes of some kind! It's fun to find out these little tidbits of information about each other! It's not fun trying to choose our winners, so the Design Team had to lean heavily on each other to come to a decision! LOL And here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Christi M.

The word for the day is texture, as Christi's project is full of it, from the fur on the buck to the background DSP! This rich and quirky design is so delightful with the bowtie on the buck matching the woodgrain background and the very cool-shaped plaque the deer head is mounted on, that the Design Team fell in love almost immediately!

Our first Featured Artist is: Cindy Major

Cindy's adorable mad scientist has been crafted and coloured with such care and creativity that she just seems to jump off the page at you! We loved the details of the potions and how the bubbles were echoed in the background papers and embellishements! And these amazing results were achieved through very skillful use of pencil crayons!! Amazing work, Cindy!
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new Recipe challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #209 - Lean on Me! and Some Exciting News

Before we get to our challenge today, we have some exciting news to share with you. We've added a new member to our Design Team, and she's no stranger to As You See It Challenges. She's been a big supporter from almost the beginning and we are so pumped to add her to the team. Or maybe I should say "chuffed", since that's a term more common in the UK and that's where our new team member is from. We're delighted to introduce Joanne James to you, and we'll let her team bio give you some more information:

Please leave Joanne some love in our comment section! Now on to our latest challenge:

Do you have that one set of dies or that one punch that hardly ever gets put away, because you're always using it? It's your go to tool, the one you always "lean on" to meet your crafting needs! Our challenge this time, by the busy and prolific Jane Knudsen, is a "Fill In The Blank" Challenge with "My go to die or punch that I use the most often is  __________." Just fill in the blank and then make a project based on that tool. Let us know in your post how you filled in the blank! And see how many others have the same go to die or punch that you do!

And what dies or punches are favourites of our Design Team?

Amy Jasper
Amy's go to is the large circle punches.

Heather uses the Stitched Rectangle dies all the time now.

Jan has found herself turning to the Stitched Nested Label dies all the time.

Joanne James
Joanne relies on the Stitched Shapes dies, especially the circles.

Jane Knudsen
Jane's go to die is the Linen Impression Plate.

LeAnne Pugliese
LeAnne also really likes the Stitched Shapes dies, particularly the circles.

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Fill in the blanks with the words that are right for you and then create your project with those words in mind. Tell us, in your blog or on your site, what words you used.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI209 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #208 - Night Glow

The colours of last challenge were so....glowy! And we were so amazed at the luminescent qualities of your entries! Beautiful images and backgrounds in all of them. You should all be glowing with pride! Meanwhile, your Design Team was working so hard to choose our winners from amongst your gorgeous designs, we were radiating energy of a different sort! Here's what we came up with:

Our Top Pick is: Jenny Engelke

Jenny's spray of die cut foliage looks so clean and colourful against the backdrop of the pinewood planks embossed white background. It makes the colours glow just that much more! And the little touches of glittery gold make a special statement! The Design Team felt that this was such a great way of showcasing the Challenge colours!

Our first Featured Artist is: Jen Mitchell

Jen's CAS design is masterful! It showcases the Challenge Colours in a minimalist but oh,so effective way! The Design Team really loved the splash of colour behind those perfect fall leaves and the way the sentiment creates the dividing line on the card. Well done!!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new Fill In The Blank challenge tomorrow! Plus we have some special news for you! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
