Challenge #226 - A Little Tart

It's time for another Colour Challenge and this one comes to us courtesy of Design Team member, Joanne! This challenge pays homage to a couple of retiring SU In Colours. But due to the Challenge Banner graphic and the raspberry, lemon, lime colours, I'm calling this one, "A Little Tart!" Does that look delicious to you, because it does to me! Enjoy, but don't get too hungry! (Remember you can use the colours you have that most closely match the ones we've given you here on the banner. Don't count yourself out because you don't have the exact ones!)

The Design Team were thinking a lot alike this week, as you'll see:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin' Up! colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI226 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Winners for Challenge #225 - Windows on the World

We loved looking out of everyone's windows into their crafting worlds - either what they really see or in their creative imaginations. There was such a variety. We hope you enjoyed the process as much as we enjoyed the results.
Over the past two challenges, we enjoyed adding Honorable Mentions to our winners' roster and thought we'd make that a permanent feature as long as we have enough entries! We just like honouring more of you!

Our Top Pick is: Cindy Major

Cindy went all out to bring light and colour and life to her creation, just as her sentiment suggests! The Design Team loved the awesome paper choices and how the patterns complemented each other and the die cut girl was perfect in the colours and patterns chosen for her as well! The final piece of perfection was the three buttons echoing the major colours in the card! A feast for colour-starved eyes, Cindy!

Our Featured Artist is: LauriBColeman

There are several elements that the Design Team agreed made this card by Lauri stand out. One was the crisp, clean look of it with all the layers and die cuts so precisely stamped and cut and layered. Another was the choice of a nautical palette that worked so well together. We loved that she stamped her sentiment right on the Designer Series Paper. And the depth she created with her die cuts gave a simple clear message, in line with her sentiment! Great job, Lauri!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:

2.  Jo

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Colour Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #225 - Windows on the World

It's time for another Sketch Challenge here at As You See It and Design Team member Leanne has come up with a great one that reminded me of a series of windows or frames, but it made me think about the way that card making and stamping is just another way of representing our world - a window on the world, so to speak. And what do you want to highlight in your window on the world? There's so much beauty out there, and so many problems, too! Let's see what you can show us through your unique pane of glass!

Feel free to rotate or flip the sketch, just keep the integrity of it, so we can recognize it.

What has the Design Team drawn the curtains on through their windows?

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch and to substitute one   shape for another but we must still be able to see the sketch   in your finished submission.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI225 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #224 - Fleet Florals

Wow! Lots of adrenaline junkies out there! We're glad that so many of you are enjoying the Speed Stamping Challenges! And we're humbled by what you manage to put together in under 10 minutes! You have quick minds and nimble fingers! Bravo!
Last week, we enjoyed adding Honorable Mentions to our winners' roster and thought we'd continue that this week! We just like honouring more of you!

Our Top Pick is: Malina G.

Malina had a lot of great details to show off her stamped floral images. There was the great layout, the gorgeous striped background, the precise border, and all the embellishments! Her project looks fresh, fun and well put together, and all well within the 10 minute deadline!

Our Featured Artist is: Lisa Babitz

The stamp set that Lisa used was a perfect one for speed stamping, but that didn't mean that it didn't take some skill on Lisa part to select, skillfully line up images, choose great colours, spritz some splatters and pick a great sentiment in order to have a bold, eye-catching card in just under 5 minutes! A great choice for her, and a great choice for us as Featured Artist! The Design Team is in awe!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:

7.  Teresa
