Winners for Challenge #192

Let's ring the bells and clash those cymbals! Yes, it's time to find out who our winners are for As You See It Challenge #192 - Metallics! The entries were flashy, bright, and dazzling! We had to wear sunglasses to evaluate them all! But the winners emerged to brighten the gloom of the winter! Here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Bobby

Bobby's entry is a very powerful masculine design, with clean lines and industrial images using gears and rivets. Her vertical die cut sentiment was skillfully embossed using platinum embossing powder and placed perfectly for a very balanced and eye-pleasing effect!

And our Featured Artist is: Gail Peters

Gail's card is a layered masterpiece, keeping your eyes engaged for long minutes at a time. The copper elements just pop against the soft coloured background and don't you just adore those tiny copper fish? As for the coral, sand dollars and sea stars, they almost look metallic, because of their covering with clear embossing that gives them an extra gleam for the camera! Just WOW!!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new assortment challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #192 - Metallics

Our first brand new car was a Dodge Omni, and though it turned out to be a massive lemon, I absolutely loved the colour, which was a dark metallic green! I've always loved the shine of metallics. It's one of the reasons I love card making and I use any excuse I can to add a bit of metallic glimmer to a project, so I'm all on board for this theme challenge! The rules? Just add some metallic shine to your creation - Bonus if you mix metallics!

See the Design Team shine up their stuff:

Winners for Challenge #191 - Framed

It was good to get back to routine after the holidays and we set the framework for the first challenge with our sketch, while you went to work and filled out the concept with your creativity! You framed your cards with colour, texture and design, and made us slightly crazy trying to pick winners! It's always close, but this week it was a squeaker! Here are your two winners:

Our first Top Pick is: Joanne James

Joanne took our "framed" theme very seriously and created a great 3D frame highlighting the bold paper with the sentiment panel which echoes the colours and the mood of the card! The cheery feeling this card creates is going to lift some lucky person's day to a new level! Awesome!

And our Featured Artist is: Shirley Gentry

Shirley's creation is just a stunner, with the gorgeous texture from the embossing folder, the delicacy of the printed vellum, and the simple sentiment with the addition of the twine threaded through the borders and the foliage tucked in behind! The overall effect is peaceful and pleasing and balanced - just a joy to look at! Congratulations, Shirley!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new theme challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
