Winners for Challenge #163

Well, it seems you enjoyed using banners again, or you enjoyed being challenged to come up with something to simulate the banners without actually using them. Whatever your choice, we had some spectacular projects this week and we loved hopping from site to site to look at them all! Well done, everyone! In fact, we couldn't come to a consensus on just two winners and we have a tie for Top Pick this week!

One Top Pick is: Cindy Major

Pattern Party Decorative Masks_Merry Little Christmas DSP_Cindy Major

Cindy's snow fall created with embossing paste over the black and green plaid designer paper was a show-stopper along with the lovely font of her sentiment combined with the varied green, black and white banners! It made for an entry that really caught the eye of the Design Team. Awesome!

Our Second Top Pick is: Cathymac

Cathy's adorable chickadee was a crowd fav and we loved how she stitched all those banners together from separate designer paper so that it all looks like it was meant to be together! Such festive Christmas colours and that gorgeous bow tied it all up in a winning package! Well done!

And our Featured Artist is: Melissa Grant

The Design Team were in awe of Melissa's flower garden alternative to the banners in the challenge sketch. The tone on tone background provided just the perfect backdrop to highlight the gorgeous colours in the Swirly Bird floral designs. Partner those with the awesome fonts in her sentiment and the beautiful sequins that embellish the card front, and you can see why she was the Design Team's choice for Featured Artist! Bravo, Melissa!

Congratulations to our three winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new colour challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Winners for Challenge #162

Panels! Quilt panels, electrical panels, discussion panels, wall panels! There is no end to the variety of panels there are and you certainly used your imaginations on the panels you used for your cards! Great job everyone! Here's our two winners:

Our Top Pick is: Eunice Stoneman

Eunice created a trail sign with an outdoors map as her three panels. We were amazed at her attention to detail, right up to simulated barbed wire wrapped around the sign post and the little screw-like fasteners in all the panels and on the sign post! Wowzers!

And our Featured Artist is: Deb Viens

The Design Team loved Deb's cheerful holiday card with the woodsy background and the panels created by the white fence slats. We loved the texture and the colour choices and all the little festive touches that she added, including that scrumptious velvet bow! Awesome!

Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Be a Panelist! - Challenge #162

Well, we're back to the sketches this week and Amanda has given us an interesting one to interpret. It has 3 panels in the background and there are many ways to achieve that, as you know: Designer Series Paper, watercolouring, washi tape, embossing paste - you name it and you own it! Be a panelist this week! Show us what you can do!

Winners for Challenge #161

We hope you enjoyed the chance to let your spookies out this past couple of weeks as we explored the Scary theme Amanda had for us! We loved the amazing variety of entries, from full on freaky to cute and creepy! This kind of a card sometimes lets you play around with new artistic techniques as well. We had our usual debate and ended up with our two winners:

Our Top Pick is: Sweety Gupta

Sweety used a Halloween witch die as a silhouette against a masterfully designed background. The Design Team loved the way she muted her colours with some brushed vintage photo distress ink over them once she had created them.

And our Featured Artist is: Wendy Bellino

JFFRS October 2017 007E
Wendy's background is a thing of beauty with its ink blending, a wonderful choice of colours and adding the water droplets. But the whole Design team loved the interaction of the different stamps to make the deliciously scary final outcome!

Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
