We were simply blown away with your entries for our fill in the blank challenge #194. Everyone had great definitions of simple and then provided wonderful samples! Our only problem was that it was not simple to pick winners. But after discussion, three finally did emerge, with a tie for Top Pick. Here they are:
Our first Top Pick is: Karen Finkle
Our second Top Pick is: Ingen
Karen's definition of simple is a card that can be completed in under ten minutes, but what she can achieve in that time is amazing! The Design Team loved how she used the stardust stamp along with the butterflies to create a simply beautiful design!
Ingen has created a great desert scene that incorporates lovely texture, beautiful colour and vibrant embellishment that echoes the colours in the stamped image. Her definition of simple includes a quiet card with lots of white and no design paper and I think she has shown us exactly how beautiful that can be.
And our Featured Artist is: Jen Mitchell
When Jen completed the prompt for this Challenge, she said that when she thinks of simple, she thinks of white space and a focal image that is bold and maybe dramatic. When you look at her entry, you can see the way she accomplishes this. The Design Team just loved the bold, graphic design and the clean, crisp look. Fabulous!
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
