Winners of Challenge #321 - Monochromatic Cherry Blossom

We're excited to announce the winners of Challenge #321 because the Featured Artist will be our Guest Designer for the next Recipe Challenge in two weeks! We love to work with our winners! Our entries were unique and artistic and very hard to choose winners from!

Before I do, let me address a serious issue that ended up eliminating about half of our entries from consideration. We have guidelines for our challenges for a reason and we would like you to read them through before you play the challenge. The one that tripped up the most people for this challenge was that, for our colour challenges, you must use all 4 colours of the challenge ONLY, plus 1 neutral. And unfortunately, green does not qualify as a neutral. 

The other issue is the number of other challenges entered concurrently with ours. We are happy with 3 other challenges besides As You See It. After that, the card is just not made with our challenge in mind. It's just fitting in somehow. So please read our guidelines. Your cards are so beautiful, we want to be able to consider them for our winners.

However, here are the winners for this challenge:

Our Top Pick is: Kim S.

 Kim used die cuts and an embossing folder to create a beautiful take on our colour challenge. The coloured cardstock gave a clear delineation of the challenge colours and showed them off beautifully while the background texture created depth and interest! Note the font on the sentiment text. It seems like it was just made for this card design, doesn't it! Gorgeous!

 

Our Featured Artist is: Tenia Nelson

As Featured Artist this week,  Tenia will also be invited to be our next Guest Designer! Tenia has bucked the trend and not used florals to display the challenge colours. We loved the layout and the images she used and the depth of her design. The team were impressed with how well the colours were matched and the choice of background paper as well. Beautifully done! Congratulations, Tenia, you will be our next Guest Designer for our Recipe Challenge in 2 weeks time. We will be in touch!

Challenge #321 - Monochromatic Cherry Blossom

While we find all sorts of beautiful tones in Nature, especially at this time of year, we can also find examples of monochromatic masterpieces, like the cherry blossoms in the challenge banner below! Thanks to Team member, Heather C for this challenge and image.

Each time we have a colour challenge, the Featured Artist will have a chance to become a Guest Designer for our next Recipe Challenge 4 weeks from now. So enter with that in mind! We're so excited to work with you for one challenge!!

Remember, if you don't have the Stampin' Up! colours, use the colours you have that are the closest. Your project should use all these colours only and 1 neutral of your choice.

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

• Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging project that fits the challenge.
• Stampin' Up! colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours. Make sure you use all the colours in the challenge banner. Neutrals include black, white, vanilla, Crumb Cake.
• Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI #321 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #320 - Perfectly Balanced

Our sketch challenges aim to give you a framework to enhance your creativity! We love seeing what you do with each element of the sketch and how creatively you fill the requirements of the challenge! This week, we had some lovely balanced designs, with lots of shapes filling in for the circle on the sketch! From cowgirls to spaceships, they were all inspired!

Let me introduce you to our winners! Here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Tenia Nelson

Tenia created this fun little vignette for our sketch. For a start, the Design Team was in awe of her mastery of colouring techniques! Then we really enjoyed her playful choice of patterned paper, from polka dots to wood grain to glimmer! Then the CAS aspect made sure that her cowgirl was the complete focal point of the card! Awesome card, Tenia, and congrats on being Top Pick.

Our Featured Artist is: Kelly Schirmer

Our winning entry, the Featured Artist, Kelly has created a card that's out of this world! The Design Team loved her playfulness, the point of view it has and all the glimmer! We liked the way the stars created the illusion of the horizontal elements under the circle, and the chalkboard effect on the circle! Then there's that favourite sentiment all geared to make this warm your hearts! Great job, Kelly! You're a star!
