Challenge #286 - Boo!

Team mate Heather H. came up with a seasonal Fill in the Blank challenge this week. My grandkids have pretty much worked out their Halloween costumes now and one of them has one of those inflatable TRex costumes. It's hilarious! Definitely not spooky in the least, but this challenge wants to know what you find spooky about the event and then make a card about it! Feel free to be funny if you want. Some of the design team were, and we're still chuckling!

For a Fill in the Blank Challenge, you complete the sentence by filling in the blank, then you make your project based on the words you used to fill in the blank. How would you fill in this blank? Now, take on the challenge of making something amazing with it!

And make sure to tell us, in your blog post, how you Filled in the Blank!

Winners of Challenge #285 - Aurora

We're excited to announce the winners of Challenge #285 because the Featured Artist will be our Guest Designer for the next Recipe Challenge in two weeks! We're very keen to work with the winner! Our entries certainly did the colour challenge justice!

Here are our winners:

Our Top Pick is: Lisa K.

Lisa skillfully used the colours as a blended background with the lighter colours as a backdrop for the starlight. The black became the silhouettes and the backing panel (along with the dark blue). This gave her Christmas themed card a moody, mysterious look that really enhances the star as the focal point!

Our Featured Artist is: Cindi Copeland

As Featured Artist this week, Cindi will also be invited to be our next Guest Designer! We loved that she used a slimline format to get more of our Challenge Colours in her design. The chevron design in the background has chevron in all three colours on a black card base and then the flowers are a cascade of colour down the front of the card. So lavish and pretty! Even her envelope uses the colour palette!

Congratulations, Cindi, you will be our next Guest Designer for our Recipe Challenge in 2 weeks time. We will be in touch!

Challenge #285 - Aurora

We're into October now and for some of us, it's a month marked by coloured leaves and Halloween. These colours are reminiscent of fall and witches' cauldrons, but equally, they could be sunset colours or a seascape or the aurora borealis, so have fun with this beautiful combination in whatever way you see the colours being used!

Each time we have a colour challenge, the Featured Artist will have a chance to become a Guest Designer for our next Recipe Challenge 4 weeks from now. So enter with that in mind! We're so excited to work with you for a challenge!!

Remember, if you don't have the Stampin' Up! colours, use the colours you have that are the closest. Your project should use all these colours only and 1 neutral. (Neutrals include black, white, vanilla or Crumb Cake.)

Winners for Challenge #284 - The Pendulum

Our sketch challenges aim to give you a framework to enhance your creativity! There was a lot you could do with our last sketch, from florals to Halloween designs! We enjoyed all the variety and imagination.

Let me introduce you to our winners! Here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Polly Libby

polly libby

Polly created a stunning blended alcohol ink background on vellum before beginning on her Challenge layout. The Design Team loved her choice of paper in the background and her composition within the sketch guidelines. This is a good example of creativity while maintaining the integrity of a sketch. Just beautiful, Polly!

Our Featured Artist is: Suzanne from Stamp n' Sip

Suzanne's beautiful design made such amazing use of the sketch and ended up with an image that created amazing depth, when she used the horizontal element to form a mountain range against the vertical element of lovely watercolour washes for the sky. The black card base is perfect for showcasing all of this. Well deserving of the Featured Artist Award!
