Challenge #218 - Espresso Pronto

It's time again for the notorious Speed Stamping Challenge! We are getting more and more of you willing to take on the challenge of creating a card in under 10 minutes. Nay, even excited about the challenge of creating a card in so little time! This time our challenge was created by Design Team member, Amy, and your project should be in Shades of Brown!

When we do a speed challenge we are not expecting a detailed masterpiece from you. We want you to have fun and see what you can create in under 10 minutes!  "WHAT?!" you exclaim,"That's impossible!" Well, it isn't, as our design team will show you, but you can design it in your head or sketch it out first. You can gather all your supplies ahead of time. But once you start the cutting/stamping/die cutting/embossing /etc. process, you must start the timer! You have 10 minutes! Let us know, with your entry, how long it took you to complete your card or project! The key is to KISS!! Keep It Simple, Stamper!

Also, you can use any shades of Brown, plus other neutrals but no other colours!

How did the Design Team go Espresso Pronto in under 10? Let's see:

Amy Jasper 10m00s

Heather Cooper 9m04s

Jan Clothier 8m33s

Joanne James 9m08s

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • You can come up with your design and gather materials before you start the clock, but once you start work, you have to complete your design in 10 min. State in your blog or description, how long it took you to make it.
  • Use only shades of brown and other neutrals in your project.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI218 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #217 - Love is in the Air

Love really was in the air over the last two weeks! Oh, my! We adored all your love themed entries to our Challenge #217! And they weren't all Valentines, contrary to expectations. You were much more creative than that! Thanks to all of you who entered for sharing your 'love-ly' ideas with us all! We were able to come to agreement, finally, over our winners, and here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Shawna from the Grande Stampede

Shawna's creative interpretation of a sketch challenge with her sentiment banner and those adorable daisies looking so fresh and spring-like, caught everyone's eyes! We loved the wood background and the polka dot daisy centers, too! Great job, Shawna!

Our first Featured Artist is: Christi M.

Christi's neutral Valentine card caught the imagination of our Design Team, with the cream and kraft and polka dot background contrasting with the bold sentiment and splash of red in the foreground. The delicate sprays of leaves also contrasted with the graphic design of the rest of the card! This masterfully designed card is just a real eye-pleaser!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Speed Stamping Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Winners for Challenge #216 - A Recipe for Sparkle

It was such a relief to find some sparkle on our Challenge page for those first two weeks in January! After the festivities of Christmas, things can be so dull that it's nice to find an excuse to light things up again, and you all did that so effectively that we were dazzled by the light! But in spite of our dazzled eyes were were still able to choose a Top Pick and a Featured Artist! Take a look:

We had a tie for Top Pick

Our first Top Pick is: Heather Heroldt

With a very inspiring sentiment, Heather creating a sparkling card where the silvery snowflakes on the designer paper almost matched the exact diameter of the embossed snowflakes on the cardstock underneath and beside them! What a great layout with lots of silver and bling to bring it home! The Design Team Salute you, Heather!

Our second Top Pick is: dj at Sendable Sentiments

dj managed to fulfill the conditions of our Recipe Challenge in some unique ways. The snowflake was a giant, vellum snowflake which also filled the dry embossing requirement, because if you look closely at the photo, it is dry embossed! The silver was the cross-hatched stamped area behind, which is stamped in a silver-metallic ink, not gray, and also the silver button. The Design Team were impressed with dj's creativity.

Our first Featured Artist is: Rebecca Ednie

Rebecca's elegant alcohol ink background with the resist snowflakes caused a gasp of delight from the Design Team and combined with the die cut snowflake flourish and the heartwarming sentiment with the dry embossed lines created a beautiful winning entry! Beautiful work, Rebecca!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Theme Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #216 - A Recipe for Sparkle

Happy New Year! Welcome back after our holiday break! Thank you for your support of our challenge blog. We really enjoy getting to know all our participants and look forward each week to viewing their creations and reading their blog posts! I hope you had a restful break and your mojo is in full swing. Our first challenge of 2020 is a Recipe Challenge, meaning you will be presented with a challenge banner giving you 5 design elements that must be included on your project. How you include them and what they look like, as long as they are recognizable as that element, is up to you!

This next recipe challenge was concocted by yours truly, and it's a recipe for Sparkle, because... well... it's just that time of year! January really needs some sparkle in it, don't you think??

Let's see what the Design Team's versions of silver and shine look like:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Use every element in the recipe, but the possibilities within those parameters are endless.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI#216 when uploading to a public gallery.
