Winners for Challenge #317 - A Recipe for Robbie Burns

Thanks to all the testers who tried out our Recipe Challenge last week! We all loved the elements you included to fulfill the recipe requirements, especially the plaid element! It's amazing how 5 different ingredients can be combined in so many different ways. Your cards took the concept of plaid in whole new directions and gave us some beautiful designs! Here are the winners:

Our Top Pick is: Jennie Maier

top pick

Jennie stenciled some lovely yellow plaid as a vertical element down the side of her card front, then used it as a showcase for the beautiful embossed and layered daisy die cuts. Her horizontal layers are lovely spring colours and give us the embossed element of the challenge as well. The cute sentiment boasts the adorable twine bow and the Design Team also loved the coordinating colours of the adhesive dots she used! Congratulations for the Top Pick award, Jennie!

And our Featured Artist this week:

Our Featured Artist is: Erin T.

Erin, our Featured Artist this week, created the most intriguing plaid pattern that formed the whole background of her card! The die cuts were delicate gold foliage with gold cord loops forming the twine element of the challenge. That small white heart has been embossed and the team loved the mix of fonts in the sentiment and also the combination of yellow, gold and black as the palette of the beautiful card! Gold dots completed the look. Congratulations on a truly artistic project, Erin!

Challenge #317 - A Recipe for Robbie Burns

Our Design Team member, Jane, cooked up this recipe challenge and it reminded me, because of the dominant element, of good old Scotland and the celebration of Scotland's own poet, Robbie Burns, just about a month ago, on January 23. I don't know which weaver came up with the plaid design, but they were ingenious. Imagine how complicated that could be to keep up with on a loom! Have fun with this recipe, and we can't wait to see how you use all 5 of these elements!

You have to include all the elements in the recipe on your creation, but how you do that is up to you! Have fun and start your ovens, er...stamp sets!

We are so pleased to welcome our twelfth guest designer, Amanda Mertz, (who was our Featured Artist on Challenge #315) for this challenge.

Our Top Pick is: Johanna from LHC

top pick

We were really taken, as a Design Team, with Johanna's dramatic black and white design using those amazing dies, which are a new addition to her craft room. The positive and negative aspects of the design are perfectly balanced and the black and white really showcases them well. The addition of the sparkles added an extra dimension! Congratulations, Johanna!

Our Featured Artist is: Lee Ann Barrett

Lee Ann's stunning blue bird design using her new dies was a real eye catcher. The combination of the rays of the die cuts with the spattered background which was echoed on the spattered wings of the bluebird was so compelling! Add to that the perfect sentiment on a distressed panel and you have a Featured Artist's work of art! Beautiful card, Lee Ann!

Challenge #316 - Yes, I Do Need a Bigger Craft Room

One of the most enjoyable parts of stamping, and probably most crafts, is adding to your craft supplies! Our brilliant Team Member Jan knows there are beautiful materials, ingenious tools, intriguing images! How can an artistic person resist these things? It's almost a hobby in it's own right! Right? What is YOUR latest craft purchase??

For a Fill in the Blank Challenge, you complete the sentence by filling in the blank, then you make your project based on the words you used to fill in the blank. How would you fill in this blank? Now, take on the challenge of making something amazing with it!

And make sure to tell us, in your blog post, how you Filled in the Blank!
