Flower Frenzy - Challenge #157

This challenge reminds me of the time of the summer when gardens are at their peak, a riot of colour and blooms and foliage just before they start to die back before the fall weather sets in! Just look at the tangle behind the horizontal bar in the sketch that Amanda has given us this time! But don't feel that you are limited to flowers! The Design Team certainly hasn't! Explore all possibilities and have fun!

Let's see what was on the minds of the Design Team:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch and to substitute one   shape for another but we must still be able to see the sketch   in your finished submission.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI157 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #156

Amanda definitely gave us a challenge with this last set of colors: Real Red, Elegant Eggplant and Lemon Lime Twist! Most entrants said they had a bit a of struggle with the combination at first, but the amazing creations that came out of the struggle were well worth the effort it took! Well done, AYSI-ers!! Out of all those masterpieces we chose two for our Top Pick and Featured Artist and here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Jari Francis

We love the way Jari was able to make these colours work together so naturally. The wreath and the flowers are so lovely while the Eggplant and Red make a background statement without being overpowering! And the Lemon Lime gives the perfect amount of pop!

And our Featured Artist is: Jo Mo

The Design Team fell in love with those quirky little flowers, but what really caught our collective eye was the unique split rectangle background, white on white, with the stitched edges and the way the colours pop against the white cardstock! Such a creative design, Jo Mo!

Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Summer Salad

Summer seems to be the time for salads, especially salads with fruit and berries in them. And berries have rich colours like red and purple, while salad greens have the whole gamut of tones from lime to hunter green and beyond! What an amazing mix Amanda has come up with from her inspiration photo! What will you do with this combination? We can hardly wait to see!

Let's find out how the Design Team used the palette we were given:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin Up colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI156 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #155

Mojo can be an elusive thing, but it was fascinating to see all the different ways you go about getting the creative juices flowing again - obviously, all very successfully! So hard to choose from among many masterpieces, but our choices for the winners were:

Our Top Pick is: Jen Mitchell

Jen's signature clean and simple design was so eye-catching that we kept coming back to it. The sophisticated turquoise and gray chevron design with the "awesome" die cut sentiment on the clean white background make such a perfect statement! We liked Jen's method of pumping up her mojo by casing herself!!

And our Featured Artist is: Joanne James

The Design Team loved the gorgeous watery background effect that Joanne created with this stamp set along with the colours she used for the more focused blooms that grace the foreground of this lovely card. As well, she had a great solution for getting your mojo back - casing the catalogue!

Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new colour challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
