Delicious Shivers! - Challenge #161

It's October, that month when people seem to like to scare themselves silly with those delicious shivers down their spines! With that in mind, Amanda has given us a Theme Challenge with SCARY as the topic! Take a look at this challenge banner and tell me the first thing that comes to mind! Did anyone else think of The Addams Family and "Thing"? Or is that dating me?

You can interpret scary anyway you'd like from full on screams to cute little boos! It's up to you! Have fun with it!

The Design Team gave us the full assortment:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI161 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines.

Winners for Challenge #160!

We were excited by how many of you willingly chose to subject yourself to the stress and adrenaline rush of our Speed Stamping Challenge in shades of orange! And we were amazed at what could be accomplished within the 10 minute time limit!! You are incredible! I hope you had fun with it. As always, when it comes time to pick our winners, the struggle is real, but we finally agreed on two:

Our Top Pick is: Deb Viens

Untitled

Deb created a whimsical Halloween look by using coordinating patterned paper for both her background and window frame! We loved the spooky trees and moon viewed through the window and the requisite black cat with its quizzical look!

And our Featured Artist is: Melissa Grant

Melissa had a series of three cards stamped on the wood textured designer paper and they were all great designs, but the Design Team loved this dahlia image in orange on the white background! Clean and simple and oh,so effective! You wouldn't know that Melissa is new to doing challenges! I think that she will be someone to watch in the future!

Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new theme challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Haste Makes Taste!! - Challenge #160

We haven't had a Speed Stamping Challenge in a long while, but we are asking you to challenge yourself, in the next two weeks, to create a card in under 10 minutes! "WHAT?!" you exclaim,"That's impossible!" Well, it isn't, as our design team will show you, but you can design it in your head or sketch it out first. You can gather all your supplies ahead of time. But once you start the stamping/die cutting/embossing/etc. process, you must start the timer! You have 10 minutes! Let us know, with your entry, how long it took you to complete your card or project! The key is to KISS!! Keep It Simple, Stamper!

Also, you can use any shades of Orange, plus neutrals, but no other colours!

Let's see how the Design Team managed the time limit:

Amy Jasper 8m1s

Jan Clothier 9m34s

Taking break this week

Tara Angus 9m0s

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • You can come up with your design and gather materials before you start the clock, but once you start work, you have to complete your design in 10 min.
  • Use only shades of orange and neutrals in your project.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI160 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #159

What a great collection of entries we had in our Collection Challenge! Such a variety of ways to use 5 design elements! I wish we could have picked them all, it was such a close race! But here are the winners:

Our Top Pick is: Jenny Engelke

Jenny combined the rooster with barn wood and gingham to create a rustic take on the sketch. We loved how her design elements came together in such a natural way and how she used old products with new ones to create her card!

And our Featured Artist is: Tammy Nyenhuis

Tammy's whole design was inspired by a brad - an awesome wedding cake brad, by the way! The Design Team loved her crisp, nautical looking DSP and the adorable bird couple on the dark blue background! We're so glad she chose our Collection Challenge to get back into playing them again!

Congratulations to our two winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new and interesting Speed Stamping challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
