Challenge #246 - Easter Thoughts
I can't believe it's almost Easter time again! I think about what was happening last year at Easter, and what we know know, and I realize we knew nothing then. I remember thinking we would be back to normal by the summer or fall of 2020. But here we are and we are just starting to have some hope of getting back together with loved ones again! So this Easter theme challenge proposed by Design Team member Joanne, could be especially poignant! I'm looking forward to seeing what people come up with. But hey! Bunnies, chicks and eggs are great, too!
What is our Design Team thinking about Easter this year?

Winners for Challenge #245
We had a cook-off at the As You See It Blog over the last couple of weeks! That's what happens when you have a Recipe Challenge for a masculine design going on! And if you're looking for some great ideas for cards for your guys, you should check out these projects! After sampling all of these delicious dishes, we've come up with some well deserved winners (and it wasn't a piece of cake to choose them either!) Here they are:
Our Top Pick is: Colleen Begley
Colleen has created such an amazing Hawaiian image collage from her collection of retro Hawaiian stamps! And that background - the texture and colour is to die for! The Design Team were in agreement about the visual and textural appeal of this creation for a masculine design and she has included all the elements in the challenge in unique ways!
Our Featured Artist is: Jolanda Johnstone
The Design Team love how Jolanda combined all the elements in the challenge to come up with this design! The neutral palette really packs a punch when teamed up with the gorgeous texture provided by both the embossing folder and the choice of DSP, even when it's muted a bit with the vellum. The focal image, stamped on vellum and enhanced and protected with clear embossing powder, is a striking look! This is a great choice for a masculine design!

Challenge #245 - Recipe for Him
Design Team member LeAnne has been working on a new Recipe Challenge for you today and it's the kind that challenges a lot of people: a masculine design! How will you combine all the elements to give it that masculine look? It's up to you? You can get really creative with this! You have to include all the elements in the recipe on your creation, but how you do that is up to you! Have fun!!
We are so pleased to welcome our first guest designer, Anita Pippi, (who was our Featured Artist on Challenge #243) for this challenge.

Winners for Challenge #244 - Getting Cozy
It was so comfy and warm on the website over the past two weeks! Coziness was radiating off the page as the entries came in. And cozy must be synonymous with quality, because there was so much top notch crafting happening across the board! Wow!! It was so hard to sit back, wrapped in our warm blankets, in front of the fire, and choose our winners! Yes, it was a tough job, but somebody had to do it, so we dug in and came up with a consensus, and here they are:
Our Top Pick is: Shawna at the Grand Stampede
Shawna put incredible effort into creating this beautiful floral design, using the colour that makes her feel the coziest: soft peach. Her layered stamping technique for the flowers gave a beautiful result, especially adding the pearlescent look with the Perfect Pearls. And the embossed background with the gold ink is a stunner!
Our Featured Artist is: Jolanda Johnstone
The Design Team fell in love with Jolanda's lovely lilac Hydrangeas in full dimension. All the little florets and the shaped leaves just come alive off the layered purple background. Even the white crinkle seam binding ribbon takes on a lavender hue! Jolanda feels the warmth and positivity in the colour purple and that's why she chose it to complete the sentence in our Fill in the Blank Challenge!
