Challenge #333 - Almost Analogous

I think you could call our colour triad for this week's colour challenge, Analogous Colours. If you check the colour wheel in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, they only skipped blue green in the side by side categories, Azure Afternoon being categorized as a pure blue, but they are close enough that we could call them Almost Analogous! I'm sure you'll agree that this trio, chosen by Team Member Deborah, work beautifully together!

Each time we post a colour challenge, the Featured Artist will have a chance to become a Guest Designer for a Recipe Challenge in four weeks from the day the colour challenge posts, so enter with that in mind. We're so excited to work with you for a challenge! 

Remember, if you don't have the Stampin' Up! colours, use the colours you have that are the closest. Your project should use all these colours only and 1 neutral of your choice. Neutrals include black, white, vanilla, Crumb Cake.

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

• Stampin' Up! colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours. Make sure you use all the colours in the challenge banner. Neutrals include black, white, vanilla, Crumb Cake.
• Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI #333 when uploading to a public gallery.
• You can combine our challenge with up to 3 other compatible challenges.*
• We do reserve the right to delete, or not consider, entries that do not comply with these guidelines.*

Winners for Challenge #332 - Geometric Elements

What I liked about our sketch challenge this week was that, even though it was titled geometric elements, our entries blended those elements organically into shapes that just made sense in their beautiful designs. Yet the basics of the sketch were still there to see. And the delicious colour schemes of fall were a recurring theme, so I know you'll enjoy browsing the gallery!

Our Top Pick is: Amy Koenders

Amy used our sketch to evoke fall with beautiful background paper choices and fall-inspired imagery. The Design Team loved the pairing of plaid and polka dots and the use of the Everyday Details dies that created the polka dot border on the label for the sentiment!  Amy's masterful colouring and clean cuts made this creation one that is fit for Top Pick, for sure! Congratulations, Amy!

Our Featured Artist is: Teresa S.

Our winning entry, Teresa S., the Featured Artist, has created a card both festive and whimsical! The Design Team loved her playfulness, the choice of confettied background paper, and the adorable characters who form the rectangular element of the card. Again, the colouring is outstanding, the die cuts are so precise, and the sentiment is bold and eye-catching. Teresa took the creative step of swapping positions of the geometric elements to suit her design, but has kept the integrity of the sketch in doing so. Congratulations on being our Featured Artist, Teresa!

Challenge #332 - Geometric Elements

It's time for a sketch challenge and I'm going to call this one geometric elements, thanks to the circle, and rectangles on the front. As always, you may change the shapes of the different elements, but we want to be able to recognize our sketch so you might want to be careful which shapes you change or how you change them. Our sketch is thanks to our creative team member, Joanne, and we hope it helps you to come up with many card ideas. Let's see what you can do with it!

For our Sketch Challenge, feel free to invert the sketch and use any shape for the circle, but please keep the integrity of the sketch so we can recognize it.

You are learning all the hacks and shortcuts and using your strengths to come up with designs that do not look at all like you only took 10 minutes or less to make! In a blast from the past, Christy has given us a nostalgic, retro look with a well-loved former suite featuring patterns and colours from a 1970s farm kitchen at harvest time! Her choices of colour and pattern mixed, and the lovely stamping job in the short completion time of just over 7 minutes, make this design a real Top Pick! Congratulations, Christy!

Our Featured Artist is: Jolanda Johnstone

Jolanda maintains that in a speed situation like this challenge, her fussy cutting is faster than die cutting for a simple image, and when you look at her entry this week, you'll see why! The Design Team loved the black, white and red palette, and especially the black and white gingham background for the apple! The colouring and cutting was well done and the whole design was simple enough for speed stamping, but striking enough for Featured Artist! Congratulations, Jolanda!
