Challenge #244 - Getting Cozy

I feel like the challenge this week couldn't have been chosen better if we had known what the weather was going to be doing when we picked the topics back in late December. With most of North America in the deep freeze, trying to feel cozy is at the top of everyone's list. I mean, Texas had snow! How crazy is that?!! 

This week's challenge is a fill in the blank challenge. You complete the sentence by filling in the blank, then you make your project based on the words you used to fill in the blank. Do you have a colour that you associate with coziness and warmth?  How would you fill in the blank? Now, take on the challenge of making something amazing with it!

Winners for Challenge #243 - Neutral Pops and a Chance to Be a Guest Designer

We're excited to announce the winners of Challenge #243 because the Featured Artist will be our first ever Guest Designer for our next Recipe Challenge in two weeks! We're excited to work with the winner! It was a challenging colour palette, but we got some beautiful creations from so many of you. Thank you for entering! It was equally challenging picking our winners. And here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Vicky Hayes

Vicky has created a CAS masterpiece using our colours, by creating this rustic background with the wood planks stamp and adding a simple wreath with our brightest colours. She's used great design principles to make this a really eye-pleasing format, proving that less is more, once again!

Our Featured Artist is: Anita Trippi

Although Anita's take on our colour challenge is clean and simple (CAS) as well, there is a lot happening here. The main panels are both stitched and the image panel is mounted slightly askew! The inked background is a tricky set of gradually fading polka dots. The typewriter itself is confined to a corner, leaving lots of white space (hence CAS designation), but it is so beautifully coloured with tons of contrast and detail. Then there's the "punny" sentiment and the splash of colour in the little 3D flower, all combined to make a winning entry. Congratulations, Anita. You will be our Guest Designer in our up-coming Recipe Challenge in two weeks. You will be contacted by email with the details.

Challenge #243 - Neutral Pops and a Chance to Be a Guest Designer!!

 It's time for another Colour Challenge and our Design Team member, Jan came up with this clean combination! It's almost industrial with pops of colour! This could be really challenging or uber amazing! See what you can do! 

If you remember, we announced back in January that each time we have a colour challenge, the Featured Artist would have a chance to become a Guest Designer for our next Recipe Challenge 4 weeks from now. So enter with that in mind! We're so excited to work with you!!

Remember, if you don't have the Stampin' Up! colours, use the colours you have that are the closest. Your project should use only these colours and 1 neutral.

Winners for Challenge #242 - Hearts and Flowers

 Hearts and florals abounded in our gallery in many forms over the past couple of weeks! So beautiful and creative! Thanks to everyone who participated! Hearts and flowers from the Design Team to you all! But in our heart of hearts, we knew we would have to narrow down the winners for those Victors' Bouquets! And here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Cindi Copeland

Cindi has several 40th (Ruby) Anniversaries coming up among her friends and so this design will serve her well this year! And our sketch came in handy for the layout! The Red Glimmer paper is a real show stopper when used with that floral heart die and the sentiments in pink are a nice complement! Check out the envelope as well! What a nice surprise to get on a special anniversary!

Our Featured Artist is: Vicky Hayes

Vicky's rustic country take on our sketch is very effective. The Design Team really liked her faded wood grain background for the red gingham heart. The little purple flowers were a sweet surprise but worked very well with the theme!  Well done, Vicky!
