Winners of Challenge #184 - Back to Basics

Who knew you could create such winning designs with such basic tools. With just stamps, ink, paper, scissors and the odd ribbon or sequin or button, we had some beautiful cards on display in our gallery. Sometimes, it does us all good to get back to our roots! And here are the winners of this latest challenge:

Our Top Pick is: Marina

Marina's cool card was based on a book about Jazz pianist, Oscar Peterson! Her stamp is perfect for the subject and we loved the configuration of it in concentric circles. She has chosen cool colours to present it and has trimmed it out in a cool way as well. In fact, it's just cool all over!

And our Featured Artist is: Joanne James

Joanne's lovely dandelion creation is the epitome of back to basics, the proof that you can make a beautiful card with just stamps, ink, paper, trimmer and a small embellishment. The Design Team was unanimous in their admiration of the colours and the background details and the soft bokeh effect! Well done, Joanne!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new colour challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
