"Lickety split" as an expression first appeared in the 1800s, mimicking the sound of a railroad car going over the tracks quickly, and so came to mean rapid movement. And, of course, lavender is a light shade of purple. So lickety split lavender means speedy purple, just what we needed for our speed challenge with a purple theme! And I think you all had fun with it, at least that's how your blogs made it sound! Your cards were so lovely! We had a heck of a time picking winners! But here they are:
The Design Team loved that jApril-like floral paper Stef used for the card base – what a lovely spring feeling she started with! Then she added the purple strips and those gorgeous butterfly stickers to grab our attention and topped it off with that snappy sentiment and embellishments! Congratulations on Top Pick,Stef!
Jenny Martin, our winner, and Featured Artist, chose an orchid as her purple flower for the speed challenge, and what a great choice it turned out to be! She stamped the bold outlines then added a small amount of purple in the middle and leaves, buds and centers in green. She managed this, plus bold sentiment and die-cutting an elegant frame in the challenge deadline of 10 minutes! Congratulations on earning Featured Artist, Jenny!
And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Our winners today can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites. Please check out our new Sketch Challenge on our blog tomorrow morning!
