Challenge #384 - A Feather in Your Cap

Welcome to a new challenge, Papercrafters! This week, thanks to our very creative Team Mate, LeAnne, is a Theme Challenge, and the theme is Feathers! Have you all got feather stamp sets, or dies, or embossing folders with feathers? If not, how about real feathers! If you don't have those, how about birds? I'll bet everyone has a bird stamp set kicking around somewhere! Now, a peacock would be ideal, but even some chickens or quail would work well! If you're ready to start, I'm calling this one A Feather in Your Cap! because you figured out a way to do it! Way to be creative! Now have some fun with it!

Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging project that fits the challenge.
Stampin' Up! colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours. Make sure you use all the colours in the challenge banner. Neutrals include black, white, vanilla, Crumb Cake.

The Design Team were stoked with the designs of the entries in our Recipe for Fall Ambience Challenge! It always amazes me how the same 5 elements can result in such a variety of entries, all of them uniquely beautiful. And that makes being the ones who have to pick the winners a very tough job! Nonetheless...

Here are the winners of Challenge #383!

Our Top Pick is: Jennie Maier

Jennie's entry has that crisp, clean look of a well-designed card! She has chosen colours that really work well together and a ribbon that clearly enhances the design.

Jennie has included a variety of shapes and textures to provide interest but enough cohesiveness to create unity. And she didn't forget humour...check out her punny sentiment! Jennie, your card embodies Top Pick! Congrats!

Our Featured Artist is: Jaydee

The lack of pumpkin paraphernalia had our Featured Artist, Jaydee, getting really creative for this week's Recipe Challenge! She created the whole side of a house with a window with gingham curtains and put some small die cut pumpkins on the window sill. Her skills included stencilling the brick wall to locate the window in, ink blending to create depth on those tiny pumpkins, adding acetate on the windows for glass and heat embossing that sentiment. All these details contribute to the top award. Congratulations, Jaydee, on being this week's Featured Artist!

Challenge #383 - Recipe for Fall Ambience

Need a good recipe? I've got one for you today. It's a Recipe for Fall Ambience! Concocted by our Team mate, LeAnne, it's a great way to celebrated the fall and Thanksgiving, which in Canada, where I live, is this weekend! When you do a recipe challenge, you are given 5 elements to include in your design. They must ALL be included in some way in your project, but how you do it is up to you.

Remember our Colour Challenge a couple of weeks ago? Well our Featured Artist from that challenge was given the opportunity to be a guest designer for this challenge. I'd like you to meet Kim:

Winners for Challenge #382 - Christmas is A-Comin'

It seems that we are all in different stages of our Christmas Card making! Some of us are very well prepared, having been making Christmas cards all year long, now having so many of them in our stashes that we've lost count. Others of us, who enjoy the adrenaline rush of last minute panic are on our first few Christmas cards, and may be pulling a few all-nighters before the season is done! (I know the feeling well! Thank goodness for Hallmark movies!) But no matter how you like doing things, you all like making quality Christmas cards, well worth noting at As You See It!

This sweet Christmas card has a little of everything! Check out Melanie's embossed background, the arched frame, topped with an elegant pink bow! Then there is that Christmas tree!! That really makes an impressive statement! How many shades of green are represented there? Yet they all blend so nicely, especially with that white with green tinged glimmer paper! Our Featured Artist is: Tracy

Take a really good look at the beautiful entry by our Featured Artist this week, Tracy! This gorgeous, pastel embossed Christmas creation was unanimously loved by the Design Team, and can you blame them? Those soft, festive colours in pastel format, the rounded edges of the embossed shapes, and the pops of red and gold, really make this card a feast for the eyes!
