We loved the variety of thought and design our sketch brought to the entries for our Bits and Pieces challenge! We faced the challenge of choosing winners once again.. and we were able to pick winners from among all the beauties entered!

Here they are:

We have a tie for Top Pick:

Our  first Top Pick is: Jolanda Johnstone

top pick 1

Jolanda has created a most whimsical and entertaining take on the sketch. The varied background papers all work so well together on top of the gorgeously embossed card front! The focal point image is humorous and look at that multicoloured sentiment! The Design Team felt that it all adds up to a worthy Top Pick! Congrats, Jolanda!

Our  second Top Pick is: Jaydee

top pick 2

Jaydee has used some compelling DSP for the rectangular elements of the sketch! She deserves a medal just for having the courage to cut into it!  The Design Team loved the way that it formed the main substance of her card! The neutral circle and the vellum square manage to take a back seat and the beautifully embossed sentiment creates a focal point, without detracting from the beautiful paper. Congrats on being a Top Pick, Jaydee!

Our Featured Artist is: Amy Koenders

featured artist

Our winning entry, Amy Koenders, the Featured Artist, has created a beautiful birthday card featuring gorgeous contrasts. She has also used texture in her background. The kraft and pink, white and dark brown is a stunning palette! Note the die cut sentiment that forms the horizontal element of the sketch! It's so bold and eye catching, but doesn't detract from the delicate nature of the florals! Congratulations on being our Featured Artist, Amy !

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their site:

Join us tomorrow for our next challenge, a Colour Challenge with a chance for the winner to be a guest designer for a challenge! Our winners today can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #362 - Bits and Pieces

Of all of the types of challenges we offer, sketch challenges give you the best basis for constructing your card. You provide the colours and images, but the basic layout is done for you. It might be the most helpful of all our challenges. This week, our team mate, Jan C., has given us a more intricate design for our sketch, but I'm really excited to see the beautiful card designs that will arise from it! Here's the sketch:

challenge #362

Remember, you can turn the sketch on it's side, invert it, or change the shape of the focus shape in the middle, but please keep the integrity of the sketch, so it's recognizable.

Check out the work of our Design Team, using this sketch:

Winners for Challenge #361 - An Accelerated Apple a Day

Apples are a quick and easy snack! Maybe that's why they make a great theme for a quick and easy card! Anyway, some of you had a lot of fun with our apple theme for our Speed Stamping challenge over the past two weeks! You came up with some awesome designs! Once again you made the Design Team's job hard! But here are the results:

Our Top Pick is: Jolanda Johnstone

top pick

Wow! Jolanda has reached a new milestone in her speed stamping career. This sweet CAS apple card was completed in 4 minutes and 8 seconds! The mini apples are well coloured, the sentiment is tiny, but touching and the green gingham background makes the perfect backdrop. The Design Team, as always, loves Jolanda's comments in her blog as she describes the great techniques she uses to facilitate her speed stamping! Congratulations on Top Pick, Jolanda!

featured artist
Our Featured Artist is: Christy Stanford

Christy, our winner, and Featured Artist, made her beautiful card in 8 min. 14 sec.! Her design is not complicated, but the combination of shapes, colours and finishing details really set it apart! Everything is coordinated, down to the embellishments and the sentiment! I love how the focal image panel has the stitched corners rounded and that Christy took the time to do a wonderful colouring job on the pie. Congratulations on the Featured Artist Award, Christy!

Let's see what you can make in 10 minutes! You might surprise yourself!

Now, let's take a peek at what our Design Team threw together in the allotted time:
