How did it feel to get into your scrap stash and sort it out and have an excuse to use the bits and pieces? Just like any spring cleaning feels good (once it's done!!) I loved looking through my scraps, and I found some jewels among the scraps, too! But how many of you did the extra work and actually sorted everything else out? That would NOT be me, I'm afraid! My excuse is that we were busy picking winners! And here are the winners for As You See It Challenge #294:
Our Top Pick is: Kelly Schirmer
The Design Team loved how Kelly created an amazing quilted background out of scraps of patterned paper! What made it look so authentically quilted was the way the pinked edges fitted together on all sides and had a stitched edge around the perimeter! Also Kelly had some amazing scraps in her stash that worked together so well, like the juicy red strawberries and the violets. That piped sentiment in yellow is gorgeous! Such a beautiful card! Who could tell it was made of scraps??
Our Featured Artist is: Cindi Copeland
Cindi has done all crafters a favour and figured out what to do with those small strips of cardstock you have left over when you trim it! She weaves them into a rainbow pattern inside a hoop. This colourful design looks bright and inviting and gives you an excuse to hoard those pieces you would normally throw away. We love her choice of black for the hoop and the carefree font of the sentiment! Well woven rainbow, Cindi!
And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:
4. Erin T.
6. Maggie H.
Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Speed Stamping Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners today can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
Oh thank you so much! This was such a fun challenge that I want to make myself do a scrap challenge at least once a month!
