Challenge #337 - Turbo Trees

What do you call a fast evergreen? Why, a Turbo Tree, of course, and it turns out that it's the perfect title for our latest Speed Stamping Challenge, created by the queen of speed stamping, our team member, Jan! And since the holiday season is here, that makes it even more appropriate for this time. Check out the Challenge Banner for this one:

challenge #337

Now those of you who are familiar with our Speed Challenges know that basically you have to create a card to fit the theme in under 10 minutes. But you can plan your card first and get out all your materials first. However, the moment you cut paper, or add ink to a stamp, or begin to use a tool, you must start the timer!

In your post, make sure you tell us how long it took you to create your card.

Let's see how long it took our Design Team to make their projects:

  • Use every element in the recipe, but the possibilities within those parameters are endless.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI#337 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.
  • You can combine our challenge with up to 3 other compatible challenges.

Winners for Challenge #336 - The Seeds of a Corny Theme

What do you do with seeds and/or acorns? Well, we had an education for this past challenge as we saw such a variety of interesting ways of illustrating the theme! And it was one theme that worked in both northern and southern hemispheres, spring and fall!

Here are the winners of Challenge #336:

Our Top Pick is: Toni Maddox

top pick

This colourful, postage-style card is an absolute delight! The rich oranges and browns highlighted with blue, gave a sunny, fall ambience! All the images were so  bright and whimsical, and you did such a great job of stenciling! Congratulations, Toni, on being our Top Pick this week.

Our Featured Artist is:  Rachel Black

For those of you already planning your garden for the spring, Rachel's winning card will take you right into that happy place again! The progression from seed to seedling to full-grown plant is so well illustrated here, but the beautiful designs are displayed on a shaded, stenciled background of brick, wood, and script! The neutrals of the seed packets, pots and backgrounds are in contrast with the seedlings and foliage as little pops of green. All in all, a gardener's delight.  Congratulations, Rachel, on being Featured Artist this week!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honourable Mentions on their sites:

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Speed Stamping Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners today can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Winners for Challenge #335 - Recipe for Thinking of You Warmly

Thanks to all the guest "chefs" who tried out our Recipe Challenge last week! Those warm colours mixed with the metallics were gorgeous! A real tip of the hat to Autumn! It was very hard to pick winners, but that's our job, so we did it and here they are:

aysi top pick badge

Our Top Pick is: Deb Horst

top pick

Deb created a beautiful "caffeinated collage"! Her ink layering in the background collage is just beautiful and includes some dry embossing, highlighted with ink! There is even a metallic charm included, but nothing looks out of place. And the texture that Deb has incorporated is just scrumptious! This card is so skillfully done, it really deserves the Top Pick! Congratulations, Deb.

And our Featured Artist this week:

Our Featured Artist is: LeAnne Pugliese

LeAnne, our Featured Artist this week and winner, used the elements of the recipe in very creative ways! That orange  background paper is stunning and those two tags of differing sizes and all the autumn bits you have displayed on your card are remarkable! Also there is no shortage of delicious texture, which adds so much depth, as in the cross stitch embossed border down the side and the random embossing on the tag! Well earned Featured Artist award!  Congratulations, LeAnne!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:

    10. Birgit

    11. Yvon Doensen

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Theme Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners today can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #335 - Recipe for Thinking of You Warmly

I'm really excited about this Recipe Challenge because it has so many elements in it that I love to create with. That's probably because I created this challenge! But tags! Warm tones for October! Metallics! Embossed texture! It's all my favourites in one creation! I hope you love it too!

You have to include all the elements in the recipe on your creation, but how you do that is up to you! Have fun and start your ovens, er...stamp sets!

challenge #335

We are so pleased to welcome our fifteenth guest designer, Annette Elias, (who was our Featured Artist on Challenge #333 a couple of weeks back) for this challenge.

Winners for Challenge #334 - Using Spaghetti to Craft

Wow! We really learned a lot from your posts this week! Some of you had some unique faves that you love to craft with! And then some of you love the same things that many of us do, but you create beautiful techniques with them. I really loved this challenge, but I confess, I was hoping that someone would use spaghetti to craft!! However, we must carry on with our job and announce the winners of Challenge #334:

aysi top pick badge

Our Top Pick is: Bronwyn Eastley

top pick

If you hadn't already guessed, Bronwyn's favourite thing to craft with is pretty paper, and has she ever used it to full capacity with this card, creating a beautiful vista from the farmhouse porch, over the fence and out to the pastures beyond, all created from beautiful 6" x 6" designer paper! Then she also fashioned the perfect white picket fence to frame it! With a birthday sentiment and great colour palette, this card is a real Top Pick!! Congratulations, Bronwyn !

Our Featured Artist is: Sandra Strobel

featured artist

Our Featured Artist, Sandra Strobel, has created an autumn project rich in texture, composition, shading and detail! The Design Team were so thrilled with beautifully coloured and blended pumpkin, gourd and leaves, as well as the embossed background and shiny bow. And just look at the weathered fence with the edging behind it and the details down to the raindrops. Congratulations, Sandra, amazing work!

Challenge #334 - Using Spaghetti to Craft!

Welcome to our newest challenge, a fill in the blank challenge!  With a fill in the blank challenge, you finish the sentence in the challenge, then take the words you used to be the basis of the project you enter in it. Let's take a look at the Challenge Banner, for an example:

challenge #334

So, how would you fill in the blank in the above statement: My favourite item to craft with is:____________________________

Let's say you filled in the blank with 'spaghetti'! Then you would make your project using spaghetti to craft with and enter it in the challenge. Don't forget to tell us, in your blog post, the words you used to fill in the blank!

Got it? Good!
