Challenge #267 - Soft & Muted

There's something soothing about the colour palette that team member, Heather C. came up with for our newest challenge. The deep green provides a quiet backdrop for the soft teal and muted kraft colour while the coral can pop or blend with the kraft as you wish.

Each time we have a colour challenge, the Featured Artist will have a chance to become a Guest Designer for our next Recipe Challenge 4 weeks from now. So enter with that in mind! We're so excited to work with you for a challenge!!

Remember, if you don't have the Stampin' Up! colours, use the colours you have that are the closest. Your project should use all these colours only and 1 neutral. (Neutrals include black, white, vanilla or Crumb Cake.)

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin' Up! colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours. Make sure you use all the colours in the challenge banner. Neutrals include black, white, vanilla, Crumb Cake.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI267 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #266 - Dandy Diagonals

Sketch challenges are so popular because they are so helpful. And they don't restrict your creativity too much. You can use whichever stamps and colours and papers you want to! We had so many creative, colourful designs for our Dandy Diagonals sketch challenge that picking winners was OUR challenge. Although each of the Design Team had their own 'bias' (see what I did there?) we were able to come to a consensus and choose our Featured Artist, Top Picks and Honorable Mentions.

Without further ado, I want to introduce you to our winners! Here they are:

We had a tie for Top Pick:

Our first Top Pick is: Stef Perry

Stef used lovely wintery patterned bokeh paper and closely matched ink blending of her own design to create the diagonal element of the sketch and the background for the sweet little winter mouse as the focal point. That mouse is so skillfully coloured he almost jumps right off the page and into your heart! Adorable!

Our second Top Pick is: Ingen

While we're talking about adorable, how about this little bear as the focal point of this Valentine's themed card created by Ingen? Again, so skillfully coloured and placed as the focal point on these brightly coloured Valentine-like papers, Ingen's little bear tells the recipient of his love with a warm pink heart! The Design Team loved the charm of this entry!

Our Featured Artist is: Rosanne Mulhern

Rosanne's unique creation won the unanimous support of the Design Team for the Featured Artist's Award this week. It was creative, a little outside the box, and skillfully made! We loved the book theme and the neutral palette and the composition of objects making up the focal point! This entry is a real eye pleaser. Congratulations, Rosanne!

Challenge #266 - Dandy Diagonals

Happy New Year and welcome to the first As You See It Challenge of 2022! We have a whole year of amazing challenges cooked up for you and we can hardly wait to share them with you!

Our first challenge of the year is a sketch put together by Design Team member LeAnne! You'll love her bias on creating as you craft on the diagonal this week and add a focal point that can be any shape you like!

Feel free to rotate or flip the sketch, just keep the integrity of it, so we can recognize it.
