Challenge #324 - Wedding Bells

Here in my corner of the world, it's coming up wedding season again: May & June are traditional wedding months around here. Do you have a popular wedding months in your corner of the globe? What are your wedding traditions like? Ours usually involve a white dress and sometimes a veil for the bride(s) and for the groom(s). There is a ceremony and a party (reception) after, speeches, food, dancing and a wedding cake.

Our Theme Challenge this month is Weddings, courtesy of our clever Team Member, Jane! Show us your best wedding card or project! Let the bells ring out!

Here are the challenge guidelines:

• Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D or packaging project that fits the challenge.
• For a Recipe Challenge use all elements of the recipe - the possibilities within those parameters are endless.
• For a Colour Challenge use all of the given colours and only those colours with these exceptions:
• White and Very Vanilla are free colours.
• In addition, you may use of ONE of these neutrals: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Basic Beige.
• For a Speed Stamping Challenge you must tell us the time it took to make your project and it must be finished in under 10 min.
• Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the challenge in your post.
• Make sure you link the specific post and not the whole blog to the Linky. Use AYSI#(insert challenge number) when uploading to a public gallery
• Please turn off word verification so that we can send you lots of feedback.
• You can combine our challenge with up to 3 other compatible challenges. 
• We do reserve the right to delete, or not consider for Top Pick and Featured Artist, entries that do not comply with these guidelines.

Winners for Challenge #323 - Recipe for Drama in Black & White

Thanks to all the testers who tried out our Recipe Challenge last week! We all loved the elements you included to fulfill the recipe requirements! It's amazing how 5 different ingredients can be combined in so many different ways. Your cards took the concept of drama in whole new directions and gave us some beautiful designs! Here are the winners:

Our Top Pick is: LeAnne Pugliese

LeAnne gave us a CAS design featuring the retired colour, Mint Macaron. On her daintily embossed white background, she added a layer with a paper-pieced tea bag. Around the label holding the teabag she added little banners of a Mint Macaron plaid. It really highlights the award winning  Congratulations for the Top Pick award, LeAnne!

And our Featured Artist this week:

Our Featured Artist is: Karen Walker

Karen, our Featured Artist this week and winner, used an elaborate embossing folder and a partial embossing technique to create this beautiful design using all the elements of our Recipe Challenge! The Design Team really loved the way the extra colour popped around the card front as the border and the black cardstock made the most prominent sentiment! Overall, a most eye catching entry! Congratulations, Karen!

Challenge #323 - Recipe for Drama in Black & White

Our Design Team member, Jan, cooked up this recipe challenge and it is full of dramatic elements! You can choose your own third colour to make it pop! Have fun with this recipe, and we can't wait to see how you use all 5 of these elements! 

You have to include all the elements in the recipe on your creation, but how you do that is up to you! Have fun and start your ovens, er...stamp sets!

Winners for Challenge #322 - Mission Impossible

What a creative mix of colour and design we saw this week. It can be quite difficult to craft when you have to do it using your least used colour, but you all made it look easy! Then the Design Team had the Impossible Mission of choosing winners! It's not easy, but somebody has to do it!! 

Our Top Pick is: Jenny Engelke

We were really taken, as a Design Team, with the way Jenny melded the two stamp sets by setting the posies in the coffee mug. It was such a cute detail, and she did such careful, detailed work. Then there was her clever choice of embossing folders to use on her backgrounds, echoing the shape of her flowers and the plaid of the designer paper she used. Thanks for playing along, Jenny!

 

Our Featured Artist is: Vicky Hayes

Vicky's stenciled masterpiece in coral and peach was done using markers with the stencil! With this unique technique, she was able to create this amazingly beautiful image! The love sentiment has such a beautiful font and paired with the text, gets a loving message across! This card embodies how to use your least favourite colour and still come up with a stunning design! Congratulations, Vicky!
