Challenge #197 - Starbursts and Lace

I'm so excited for this challenge. The sketch is just so cute! Lace, bows, starburst panel for the sentiment and lots of room for interpretation and fun! Let's see what you make of it!

What kind of buttons, lace and bows did the Design Team add to their projects?

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch and to substitute one   shape for another but we must still be able to see the sketch   in your finished submission.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI197 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.
You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Winners for Challenge #196 - Celtic Forests

Faith and begorrah, we had some lush and lovely green and suede designs this time! Aye, and your Design Team Leprechauns had to break out our shillelaghs in order to come to a consensus over the winners. And here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Renee Daley

We loved the rustic feel of Renee's card and the dapper rooster, all in green, echoing the green pops of colour on the rest of the card! The use of the Crackle Paint background stamp adds such a sense of texture and the stapled ribbon is another lovely rustic touch, in keeping with the country feel of the project. It’s a delight!

And our Featured Artist is: Joanne James

That clever little frog jumping for joy with the spring behind him is so creative! The choice of designer papers were a great use of the Challenge colours! Wasn't it Kermit the Frog who sang, "It's not easy being green!"? Well, Joanne just made it look good with her colouring skills! Nailed it!!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #196 - Celtic Forests!

Are you ready for another luscious colour challenge? This one would work for either St. Patrick's Day or for a masculine or woodsy, leafy kind of project, so I've called it Celtic Forests! Take a look at the banner:

Let's find out how the Design Team used the palette we were given:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin Up colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI196 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for As You See It Challenge #195 - All Askew

You knocked us for a loop with your creativity on a difficult sketch challenge! So many great designs! But what really had the Design Team topsy turvy was trying to pick winners from among them! We did manage to come to a consensus, however, and here they are:

Our first Top Pick is: Mary Deatherage

WOW! What a fabulous way to use the sketch! The layers of texture from the Country Floral embossing all the way up to the super die cut and sentiment are so tastefully assembled they add up perfection. The colours are amazing, too! This is a card well-worthy of Top Pick!

And our Featured Artist is: Dawn MacKay

This Lent card is so significant, from the purple cross, to the burlap background, to the sacrifice sentiment, to the purple, gray and white palette! It is clean and crisp looking, but it creates a beautiful and meaningful way to interpret the sketch. Gorgeous, Dawn!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new colour challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #195 - All Askew

Challenge #195! We're getting closer to our 200th challenge! And this one is an interesting sketch by Amanda that I'm calling All Askew, and I think you'll know why when you see it. It's perfect for using that designer paper, but don't let that limit you! You can do many things with those tilted panels. And the star can be any shape! Have fun with it! I know I did!

And let's see how the Design Team skewed their panels:
