Challenge #224 - Fleet Florals

How fast are your flowers? No, not your bedding plants - we know they don't go very far or very quickly. We're talking about your stamped or die cut or punched flowers! Yes, the highly anticipated Speed Challenge is back this week and this time, Design Team Member, Jane, has given us a theme rather than a colour shade to work with and that theme is flowers!
When we do a speed challenge we are not expecting a detailed masterpiece from you. We want you to have fun and see what you can create in under 10 minutes!  "WHAT?!" you exclaim,"That's impossible!" Well, it isn't, as our design team will show you, but you can design it in your head or sketch it out first. You can gather all your supplies ahead of time. But once you start the cutting/stamping/die cutting/embossing /etc. process, you must start the timer! You have 10 minutes! Let us know, with your entry, how long it took you to complete your card or project! The key is to KISS!! Keep It Simple, Stamper!

What kind of flower arrangements did the Design Team come up with in under 10 minutes? Let's see:

Amy Jasper 9m50s

Heather Cooper 8m45s

Jan Clothier 9m05s

Jane Knudsen 10m00s

LeAnne Pugliese 9m29s

Joanne James 7m18s

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • You can come up with your design and gather materials before you start the clock, but once you start work, you have to complete your design in 10 min. State in your blog or description, how long it took you to make it.
  • Use the given theme in your project.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI224 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines.

Winners for Challenge #223 - Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Somewhere over the Rainbow...we found a whole raft of new crafters who wanted to enter our challenge, and we discovered that rainbows are super popular! And why not? They uplift us all with the vibrant colours that contrast the dull clouds and rain in our lives, which we've all had in spades recently. Anyway, I think it would be a nice gesture to dedicate all these beautiful, colourful entries to celebrate the healthcare workers who are sacrificing so much to care for those sick with the Corona Virus right now!

Then, we had to pick winners, and with so many entries, two winners was just not going to cut it, so we have our usual Top Pick and Featured Artist, but we also have some Honorable Mentions that we wanted to add because they were just so good! Thanks for playing, everyone! We enjoyed this one!

Our Top Pick is: Kristie Goulet

Kristie chose the perfect graphic design to demonstrate rainbow colours with and created a beautiful Clean & Simple card using it as a band across the top. The Design Team were impressed with the skill required to position that stamp and add the colours in the right way to have them blend so perfectly! And the white on black sentiment banner is a great contrast!

Our Featured Artist is: Cornelia Wenokor

As one, the Design Team's hearts stopped dead when they saw the beautiful creation that Cornelia posted on our site. Those clouds look like cotton candy and are a great way to symbolize hope and sunshine like the lovely sentiment says. And they are a perfect contrast to the silhouette of the little girl with the balloons! Scrumptious!

And we think you may want to check out the following Honorable Mentions on their sites:

2.   Tenia Nelson
21.  Shawna

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Speed Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our two winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

It's Theme Week, and Design Team member, Amy, came up with a great one: Rainbow! It's colourful, it's springlike, it's playful and you can do all sorts of things with this theme! Just don't end up in Oz or anywhere like that! Looking forward to your Roy G Biv creations! (Red Orange Yellow Green...you get it!)

Winners for Challenge #222 - Recipe for Whimsy

When you use a recipe, you're supposed to come up with a uniform product, but not in stamping! Oh no! Give a stamper a recipe, and they can design an infinite number of variations on that recipe and you all did! And your Design Team loved them all! We hope you had fun working with our idea starter! Our winners are as follows:

Our Top Pick is: Tenia Nelson

Tenia's bold design catches your eye immediately, especially with that bright blue die cut flower and the yellow, polka dot patterned paper. The diagonal lines give her card a jaunty look and the small eclectic touches make for an artistic answer to the recipe challenge - definitely whimsical!

Our Featured Artist is: Julie Gearinger

Julie's beautiful creation is a masterpiece of realism and texture! That die cut iris is absolutely stunning and her choice of patterned paper along with the texture behind it shows it off to the best advantage! The Design Team were taken with the beauty of this design.

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! Come and check out our new Theme Challenge tomorrow morning on our blog! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.
