Challenge #179 - Warmth

I just get warm all over when I look at these colours! It reminds me of seeking out the sunny spots in the garden and lifting your face to the sun and just soaking up those sun's rays for a few minutes, letting your whole body warm! But they're also great colours for flowers, or sunsets! You be the judge! Let's see what you come up with.

Let's find out how the Design Team used the palette we were given:

Amy didn't have a card for us this week but there is an incredible reason why. Please click on her link to find out what she's been up to!

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin Up colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI179 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.

Winners for Challenge #178 - Fresh

Well, you wouldn't believe how many definitions there are in the minds of our participants for the word,"Fresh!" I admit I was surprised at the many I had never even thought of. But they were all legitimate and creative and we really enjoyed your take on our theme challenge last week! Our Top Pick and Featured Artist were:

Our Top Pick is: Amy Koenders

Amy's definition of fresh was fresh air and she created a beautiful outdoor scene complete with a wooden frame. The Design Team was impressed with her colouring skills on the forest scene and that her frame even had mitred corners! Wow! And that vellum banner with the beautiful sentiment on enhances the whole creation!

And our Featured Artist is: Jenny Hall

                                   Better With You card created by Jenny Hall at www.jennyhalldesign.com for #cardmaking #cardmaker #watercolorpainting #birdstamp #birdart #jennyhall #jennyhalldesign #stampinup #stamping #rubberstamp #handmadecard #crafts #diy #papercrafts #lifestyle #handpainted
The Design Team loved the sentiment on Jenny's card because it perfectly sums up what we feel about Jenny's talents! That adorable watercoloured bird looks so perky and fresh in aqua and yellow and we loved the creative background, enhancing but not detracting from the bird as the focal point! An award winning design, all around!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new colour challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #178 - Fresh!

It has been awhile since we've had a theme challenge and this one is perfectly timed in our part of the world with strawberry season! But the theme isn't strawberries, even though that is the image on the inspiration banner! The theme is Fresh and that can mean anything you want it to: Fresh Fruit, Fresh Air, Fresh and Clean, Minty Fresh, Fresh crafting products...There are so many possibilities! Have fun with this one!

The Design Team was at their freshest:

Winners for Challenge #177 - Greetings for Guys

I just love Collection Challenges. It always just amazes me how everyone can be given all the same design elements and then have their cards turn out so differently, each one so beautiful in its own right! It's also great to see a collection of masculine cards. We never have enough of those designs. Am I right? Let's see who the Design Team chose this week as our Top Pick and Featured Artist:

Our Top Pick is: Stampin' Sendable Sentiments

No automatic alt text available.

The crisp look of the navy and white were what initially grabbed the Design Team's attention on this cleverly designed masculine card. It was different to see the wood grain embossed in white cardstock and the little scene created on the square and framed with navy cardstock and that amazing navy corduroy ribbon sealed the deal! The navy die cut sentiment was the icing on the cake!

And our Featured Artist is: Julie Gearinger

All of us enjoyed the different look of Julie's masculine design. Her stamp set creating the diverse male avatars was so much fun and Julie used it so skillfully here. The background trees and the woodgrain panel were a perfect backdrop and we especially loved that little buckle on the brown ribbon! Well played, Julie!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new theme challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #177 - Greetings for Guys

Before I share the next challenge with you, I have a change in our Design Team to share with you. It is with sadness mixed with gratitude that we say good-bye to Teresa Kline. It has been a real blessing having the talented Teresa on our team and working with her has been a true inspiration. We wish her all the best in her crafting and life endeavors. Thank you, Teresa, for all your sparkle and shine rubbing off on our Challenge blog!

Are you ready for another collection challenge? This kind of challenge presents several elements for you to use, and you must somehow incorporate all of them in your design, but within those parameters the possibilities for creative solutions are endless! The elements this time are all definitely masculine, with a nod to Father's Day coming up! Take a look at the banner:
