Winners for Challenge #272 - Horizontal Array

Our sketch challenges aim to give you a framework to enhance your creativity! This last challenge was different but was versatile enough to be either a fancy background or the main event! We loved what you did with it! You're all so creative! You've earned your stripes!

Without further ado, I want to introduce you to our winners! Here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Karen Ksenzahovic

Karen captured the zing of spring with her colourful patterned paper cut into strips to meet the sketch's requirements and the bright die cut sentiment. But the beautifully muted background keeps everything grounded and allows the bright colours to pop! Karen used this sketch to the best advantage with her choices of colours and papers!

Our Featured Artist is: Amy Koenders

Amy also let beautiful patterned paper speak volumes with her design! The contrast and beauty of her two choices was so well thought out that it created an elegant, peaceful motif. The workmanship was evident with each strip of DSP die cut with stitched dies and arranged perfectly. Her lovely sentiment was displayed  with coordinating colours and stamping. The ribbon tops it all off! Congratulations, Amy, on being our Featured Artist this week!

Challenge #272 - Horizontal Array

It's a sketch challenge this week and I love it! Design Team member Jane came up with a brilliant sketch that let's you go in any number of directions (well, figuratively! In reality it's just horizontal!), but gets you thinking for sure! Will you keep the horizontal elements equal or will you vary their thicknesses? Will you be traditional or get creative with the sketch? There are so many things you can do with this array! Let your imagination loose!

Feel free to rotate or flip the sketch, just keep the integrity of it, so we can recognize it.

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging project that fits the challenge.
  • Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch and to substitute one shape for another but we must still be able to see the sketch in your finished submission.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI272 when uploading to a public gallery.
  • If you’re unsure about ‘the rules’, check the details under the Challenge Guidelines tab.
  • You can combine our challenge with up to 3 other compatible challenges.*
  • We do reserve the right to delete, or not consider, entries that do not comply with these guidelines.*
*Just a note: These last two guidelines have been stated all along under the Challenge Guidelines tab on our site, but with the number of entries that have been exceeding the number of challenges entered guideline lately, we thought it would be a good idea to bring it to your attention. Why do we have this guideline? The spirit of our challenges is that we want them to inspire you rather than just be one of a list of challenges that just happens to fit a card that you've already created.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!
